K = Know-How at OnTrack
Earlier this month, Jeremy Whiddon, CFP®, officially earned the marks of a Certified Financial Planner™.
First and foremost, Jeremy wants to thank everyone who helped him get here in his second career journey, including: his family, wife, business partner, teachers and of course his clients. Without their unwavering support, none of this would have been possible.
The CFP® designation is considered the standard of excellence within the profession of financial planning. Jeremy’s journey to earn certification began in 2020. Along the way, he went back to school and got a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University. He studied for three straight months to take and pass the CFP® Exam. He made a commitment to comply with the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct. And then, lastly, he completed 4,000 hours of apprenticeship working on financial planning.
Each of the five letters in the T, R, A, C, and K of OnTrack Wealth Management stand for something important to our core culture and mindset. K stands for “Know-How.” The knowledge that is earned and learned in the process of becoming and maintaining good standing as a Certified Financial Planner™ is really the bedrock for understanding how to service clients. The “Know-How” takes this knowledge and applies it to each individual or business for whom we work.
As co-founder and partner, Jim Burns, CFP® & CPA, is known to say: “you can have a tax preparer do your taxes, but a Certified Public Accountant is almost always a better choice.” And Jim goes on to apply this philosophy to financial planning. “There are many people out there who claim to do financial planning, but a Certified Financial Planner™ is almost always a better choice.”
At OnTrack Wealth Management we are proud to say that our clients get two fiduciaries and two Certified Financial Planners™ who are capable of helping you achieve your goals and carve your plans for today and tomorrow…
